Latin American Press Review Radio Collection

Annotated Programs

The Latin American Press Review Collection’s radio programs offer a wide range of rich and expansive information on events that occurred in Latin America during the 1970’s. When approaching how to best display the richness of the information in these programs, annotations were created to display the major subjects and topics included throughout. In the programs included throughout the webpage, annotations were created of the Countries and Communities mentioned in each individual program.

Countries

Each segment within a program includes between four to eight country tags. When more than eight countries were mentioned in a segment, only eight were chosen.

Communities

For the community groups included in the annotations:

  • The most used annotations were those of working class groups. These were divided into ‘Working Class (Urban)’ and ‘Working Class (rural)’ tags to distinguish the types of work and events these groups appeared in.
  • Tags were also created to display the segments that included Women, Indigenous people, and Black people.
